I really respect Tom's work and videos for us newer newbs. Unfortunately, the low lighting and dark background in this video obscure most of the rig's features and details. Yes, I can follow directions but I'm a visual guy and being able to see the rig would have been much more valuable.

The best here is mic C 🤣.... Both A and B are not impressing. Good but not "wow!" And especially on sale D2 is about 0.1X of 416, for most amateur and pro-beginners is more than enough. "A" is a bit better than "B" but there is no *10x* difference. You can make another psycological "experiment" and tell that A is Synco and B is 416, and sure many people will switch gears and prefer B, if don't know that was tricked with brand swap.

Mic B sounds like s**t :D

Thanks for the review but for the distance test you really should've run 60p, 24fps is the lightest data load which probably explains the extra long range.

The Sennheiser MKH 416 is clearly the best-sounding mic, and the differences are very apparent. As soon as you switch to Mic B, it becomes very noticeable. Does Mic B sound terrible? No! But when compared to the Sennheiser MKH 416, there is a huge difference, especially in clarity. I have seen a lot of videos where they say it sounds similar, which is not the case to my ears. Nobody said that but there is no evidence, that this latch mechanism can hold up well with time, and is it possible to maintain. Everybody just sing a song how incredibly beautiful it is. But this is not a cheap piece of kit it must have a good ammount of reliability

No single word about drawbacks. The carrying case doesn't fit tripod with head installed. Yeah really. Latch mechanism EXTREMELY tight, so tight that you can damage your fingers. And also fluid head doesn't support cameras less than 4kg. The quick release mechanism go loose very quickly. And more, and more. It's a very bad product. But nobody nowadays wants loose loyalty of Chinese manufacturers. It looks so silly
